So Gideon’s about to go to war and he’s got 32,000 soldiers. Feeling pretty confident, right?
Then God shows up and says ‘That’s too many. Send some home.’
Gideon’s like… what? 😅
God makes him downsize. First to 10,000. Then God says ‘STILL too many.’
They end up with just 300 soldiers. Against an army so big the Bible says they were like locusts!
And guess what? They won. Decisively.
Here’s why this matters: God wasn’t setting Gideon up to fail. He was setting him up to see that victory wasn’t about the numbers – it was about WHO was fighting for them.
Sometimes God will strip away what you’re relying on so you can see that HE’S your real advantage.
